Dr. Karel Alcedo

Dr. Alcedo is the principal investigator and currently an Assistant Professor in the Department of Biological Sciences at Auburn University. She obtained her Ph.D. in Cell Biology and Physiology at UNC-Chapel Hill. She trained as a postdoctoral fellow at Boston Children's Hospital and Harvard University in the Department of Stem Cell and Regenerative Biology.

Janette Douglass

Janette is a freshman at Auburn University studying Biomedical Sciences Pre-Dental. She hopes to become a dentist and to open a General Dentistry practice in the future. Through her research, she aims to learn more about the medical field as a whole and to broaden her knowledge of liver function and regeneration as well as gaining the skills necessary to continue progressing in her scientific career.
